Marianna can be explored
today at U.S. national park
areas.
Alexander Asboth, the Union
commander, played a critical
role in the Battle of Pea
Ridge, Arkansas, and A.B.
Montgomery, the Confederate
commander, was seriously
wounded at the Second
Battle of Manassas, Virginia.
Both battlefields are now
protected as national parks.
